General Meeting #3: Intersections of Physics

  • Mar 06, 2025 1:00 AM PT

Join us for our upcoming General Meeting where we’ll be diving into the fascinating intersections of physics with other disciplines! From cooking and drawing to rocketry and theatre: physics touches everything, and we want to explore how these fields converge to drive innovation and discovery.

Whether you’re curious about how physics impacts other fields, looking to broaden your academic horizons, or just want to meet others who share your passion, this is the meeting for you!

Faculty-Student Lunch with Raúl Briceño

Raúl Briceño was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. His research interests focus on understanding the emergence of low-energy nuclear physics directly from the fundamental theory of Quarks and Gluons, namely, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). His work involves various different subfields of QCD such as Lattice QCD, QCD Spectroscopy, Scattering Theory, Hadron Structure, and more with his goal as a Theoretical Physicist being to bridge the gap between our theoretical models and the phenomenological picture being constructed via experiment. His research as been recognized with the Kenneth G. Wilson Award for Excellence in Lattice Field Theory (2017) and the Department of Energy Early Career Award (2018).
